New Academic Staff

Welcome to the Wayne State University Library System!  On behalf of the Dean, I am delighted that you are joining our staff. The information in this guide is designed as a source of introductory information and to provide resources that will help you make a smooth transition to your role here in the library system.  I look forward to working with youin my role as the Dean's Liaison for Academic Staff. Again, welcome aboard and best wishes for all success!

Library System Values

The University Library System strives for excellence in serving the needs of our users. To assist us in achieving our mission, we have developed a set of shared values which we can use to guide our thoughts and behaviors as we work together on a daily basis.  These values and behaviors already exemplify many of the things that we already do very well every day. At the same time, they also serve to highlight ways in which we aspire to be perceived by our users.

Mission Statement

The Wayne state University libraries advance scholarship, student learning and faculty innovation through continuous development of a library that serves as a national model for research University with an urban teaching and service mission.
