* A fourth renewal must be done at a WSU library with the checked out item present.
** The renewal privilege corresponds with employee's "patron category" at the time of retirement.
The due date will be stamped in the back inside cover of a book. Print Reserve materials are generally restricted to a shorter loan period. The length of time may vary from item to item. Most Reserve items are for "building use only".
Requesting Items
WSU affiliates request items using the Library Catalog. Checked in items are available in 1-2 business days. Checked out items will be significantly longer, depending on when the item gets returned and how many hold requests are in the queue. Requested items will be held at the library circulation desk of the patron's choosing. Once items are available, patrons are notified by e-mail.
Renewals
WSU affiliates may renew most WSU library material at any of the WSU libraries. WSU affiliates may renew items up to three times in the following ways:
Depending on status patrons may renew materials online via the Library Catalog by clicking on "My Library Account". Your online account allows you to renew books, place and cancel requests for library materials, and view a record of checked out items, fines, and other library information. WSU students, faculty, and staff (with access ID's) must login with accessid and password. Library Guests and Alumni must login with your lastname and barcode from your WSU OneCard or Library Card.
The following restrictions apply to renewal of library materials:
- Print Reserve materials must be renewed at the library from which they are borrowed.
- A fourth renewal must be done in person with the materials in hand.
- If an item has a "hold request" or has been "recalled" it cannot be renewed.
- An overdue item may be renewed unless there is a bill for the item's replacement (see below). Such items must be returned in person. Once the billing record is cleared, the item may be renewed.
