Law - 1L & New Law Students

Library resources, services and policies for first year law students.

Finding Books

Use the WSU Library System's online catalog to identify books, e-books and more

Click on the green "Request" button in the item's online record (just below the item's call number and location) to have circulating items sent from other campus libraries for pick-up at the Law Library.

Interlibrary Borrowing Services

Law students can request articles from journals not owned by the WSU libraries, as well as books not held in any of our campus libraries.

Interlibrary Services: Our Interlibrary Services gets materials for students from libraries in Michigan, nationally, and internationally. Articles are usually delivered electronically; print books can be sent to the Law Library for pickup by students.

Michigan Electronic Library ("MEL") has both database resources and an online catalog available for Michigan residents.

My Library Account

You may renew books, place requests for library materials, or view a list of checked out items by using My LibraryAccount.

As graduate students, you may check out circulating items until the end of the current semester.  Reserve materials, journals, loose-leaf services, and multi-volume sets can only be used while inside the Law Library. High demand Course Reserve items like textbooks or study aids may be checked out for in-library use for 3 hours at a time.
