ANSI Standards (see also Introduction to ANSI)
ANSI promotes the development of American National Standards (ANS) by accrediting the procedures of standards developing organizations (SDOs). These groups work cooperatively to develop voluntary national consensus standards. ANSI also promotes the use of U.S. standards internationally, and is the U.S. representative of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
