Information on the ANSI

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) promotes the development of American National Standards (ANS) by accrediting the procedures of standards developing organizations (SDOs). These groups work cooperatively to develop voluntary national consensus standards. ANSI also promotes the use of U.S. standards internationally, and is the U.S. representative of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

Finding ANSI Standards

The ANSI Standards Portal allows user to search or browse for standards published by ANSI and affiliates, including the IEC and ISO.

Accessing ANSI Standards

The WSU Library System does not have online access to full-text versions of ANSI Standards, but they are available for purchase and download at the ANSI Webstore.

WSU affiliates can also submit requests for standards via Interlibrary Loan, and library staff will try to obtain a digital version on your behalf.
