January 1, 2024 is Public Domain Day: Works from 1928 are open to all!

Each year, certain works in the United States lose their protection under copyright on January 1st and enter the public domain based on their copyright date. Because of this, librarians and scholars celebrate New Year's Day as Public Domain Day in the United States.
