The Digital Publishing House in the Library System exists to foster the development, production, and preservation of scholarly communication through open access (OA) publication. Our goal is to make research and creative activities as freely available as possible, paying as much attention to our local needs as our global ones, and operating with a sense of equity and social justice.
The Digital Publishing House builds on an established library publishing program—a founding member of the Library Publishing Coalition—with an accomplished team of library and publishing professionals. We publish four active journals, support and grow the institutional repository, and assist in the creation of digital collections. We also collaborate with other WSULS teams to create open educational resources, digital pedagogy outreach and training materials, digital humanities projects, and digital collections platforms. We aim to expand the scope and capacity of library publishing and become a leader in digital-publishing workflows, infrastructures, and publishing pedagogy.
We support digital publishing and scholarly communication across all disciplines from conception to publication and preservation. We support this mission by offering a range of OA hosting services and training opportunities for scholars, librarians, editors, publishers, and students.
Here are some of the ways you can draw on the support of the Publishing House, all of which we can guide you through and/or help you with, depending on the scope of your project:
We are happy to consult on a number of publishing and digital pedagogy-related topics, so if you have an idea but aren't sure whether we can help, just ask! Email us at lib.publishing@wayne.edu.
