Background Information
- WikipediaYou should not cite Wikipedia as a source in your essay. But it is still a great place to start when you are at the beginning stages of research for your topic. Look for special vocabulary, subtopics and events you can use to help with your searching. Use the references and external links to explore other resources. Ask a librarian if you need help finding one of these other resources at the bottom of a Wikipedia entry.
- Britannica HighAn excellent resource to get background information on your topic. A good place to look to balance out Wikipedia.
- GALE Virtual Reference LibraryA collection of online subject encyclopedias. Good background information for biographical, historical, literary or ethics topics.
