Team Dolly: Questions?

This WSULS LibGuide provides an overview for Wayne State University's Team Dolly, Detroit's local affiliate for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I enroll my child through Team Dolly for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library?

A: If your child is between the ages of 0-5, and lives in the zip codes 48201 or 48202, yes!

Q: My child doesn't live in zip codes 48201 or 48202. Can I still sign them up?

A: Check availability at the Imagination Library's website to see if the program is in your area.

Q: I have more than one child under the age of five. Can I register all of them?

A: Yes! With the rotation of DPIL's book lists, a different book will be delivered for your children of varying ages (there may be a few repeated titles, but the lists are altered with each new year). *If you have twins, they would receive doubles of the same title every month.

Q: My child is registered! When will they receive their first Imagination Library book?

A: From initial registration, it will usually take 6-8 weeks for their first book to arrive.

Q: How does my child receive Imagination Library books?

A: Dolly Parton's Imagination Library books are mailed through the United States Postal Service (USPS)--one is delivered each month to the home of every child under the age of five.

Q: My child is registered for the program, and we're moving. Now what?

A: If you are moving to a new address, please notify Team Dolly at teamdolly@wayne.edu as soon as possible. (If still living in zip codes 48201 or 48202, your child will continue receiving one book every month, with no interruption in delivery if the address is updated).

Q: Who pays for Imagination Library books?

A: Funds are raised through Wayne State University's Team Dolly to pay for the Imagination Library program, so that children are able to receive books at no cost to the families.

Q: How can I support Team Dolly and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library?

A: Visit Team Dolly's WarriorFunder page, the official fundraising platform for Wayne State University, where donations can be made to support and expand the Imagination Library program.
