Microsoft Surface Hubs

The Microsoft Surface Hub 2S is an all-in-one digital whiteboard that you can use to collaborate with colleagues, hold meetings, and do other work. 

Located in Purdy/Kresge (1st floor) and UGL (2nd floor), this device is meant for use by current WSU faculty, students, and staff. Please make sure to schedule your reservation!

Where is the MS Hub?

There are currently two MS Hubs available for use:

  • One is located at the Purdy/Kresge Library, on the first floor (pictured above)
  • One is located at the Undergraduate Library, on the second floor.
  • Maps for both locations are listed below.

Both of these require a reservation to use. Here are the instructions for making a reservation:

  • Click on this reservation link.
  • Select the hour (or hours) you want to reserve the Hub by clicking on that time block. 
  • You will be prompted to sign in once you click on the "Submit Times" button.
  • On the next page you will be asked to confirm your times and click "Submit my Booking"
  • You should receive an email to your WSU email address confirming your reservation.

If you need to cancel your booking, there is a link in that email to cancel your time and release it for someone else to book.

Features - Whiteboard

Digital Whiteboard

You can walk up to the Hub and utilize the Whiteboard without signing into the device. Simply tap the icon and a new Whiteboard will load.

  • You can use your finger to draw on the screen directly
  • You can also use a stylus (checkout from Circulation) to write on the board

Tips for Whiteboard use:

  • Select different color pens at the bottom of the Whiteboard to draw in different colors
  • Utilize the notes to add "sticky notes" anywhere on the board
  • Utilize existing templates with this icon
  • The Hub can accept two inputs at a time, meaning that two people can draw on the whiteboard at the same time
  • You can save your work to your Wayne Connect 365 account (instructions on subsequent page)

Ideas for use:

  • Mind mapping / Brainstorming 
  • Collaborating to draw out ideas on the same board
  • Import images to label for studying (i.e. import a blank map of the United States or Anatomy and use pens to label different states and/or parts of the anatomy)

Did you know?

Available for Checkout:

There is a stylus (pen) and a keyboard you can check out for use with the Hub!

You can also check out the camera that attaches to the Hub on top to use in meetings on Zoom, Teams, etc.

These items can be checked out at the circulation desk. Please return them to Circulation when you are finished with the Hub.
