The library is committed to building collections that support all areas of research. If we do not own a book in Latino/a or Latin American Studies that you believe is essential to supporting research and teaching here at Wayne State, please let us know.

Use this online form to suggest the purchase of a book or ebook for the library's collections.

Use Wayne State Library's search tools for finding books in Latino/a and Latin American Studies.The library offers a considerable number of books in electronic format. If the library does not have a book you need, there are free interlibrary lending programs available to ensure you get the materials you need.

Library Search Tool for Books: Summon

The best way to search for books is to use our library search tool called Summon. From the main library home page, the link for Summon is in the top menu bar, far right.

 

You can enter a title of a book to see if we own a copy.

You can search by topic to see if we have books on a certain topic. After you do a topic search, you will be on a results page. Click on "Book/eBook" in the left menu to limit your results to books.

MelCat (Michigan eLibrary)

MelCat (Michigan eLibrary) combines the holdings of numerous libraries in Michigan. If Wayne State Library does not have the book you need, you can search for the book in MelCat and if it is available in print at one of the participating libraries, they will send it to Wayne State for you.

Interlibrary Loan

If you cannot find a book that you need here at Wayne State or through MelCat, we will try to get it for you from another institution through a free service called interlibrary loan.
