The Racial Equity through Action and Learning: Laying the Groundwork summit aims to build capacity to advance racial equity and justice. - Centering Black Bodies and Voices in the Public Health Response to the Black Maternal Health Crisis (On Demand-CE) is a Course Centering Black Bodies and Voices in the Public Health Response to the Black Maternal Health Crisis"Dr. Lynn Roberts will present an overview of the reproductive justice (RJ) framework and share her “notes from the field” on how the RJ movement is contesting and reimagining the public health discourse and response to racial disparities in maternal mortality and morbidity. In her address, she will present examples of the bold and unapologetic use of reproductive justice framing to ensure that Black mamas and Black births matter to all of us."
- What are Black Disability Studies"In the opening keynote of the Public Health Students of African Descent 32nd Annual Minority Health Conference, Dr. Theri Pickens presents key concepts of Black disability studies and it's difference from disability studies of other racial groups. Dr. Pickens addresses the impact of terminology when using words such as "disabled" and "impaired," and how the public health field can move beyond a basic understanding of disability to better comprehend the intersection of being Black and disabled."

The new Anti-racism in Medicine Collection within MedEdPORTAL provides educators with practice-based, peer-reviewed resources to teach anti-racist knowledge and clinical skills, elevates the educational scholarship of anti-racist curricula, and aims to convene a community of collaborators dedicated to the elimination of racism within medical education."

- Applying intersectionality to explore the relations between gendered racism and health among Black women"The purpose of this study was to apply an intersectionality framework to explore the influence of gendered racism (i.e., intersection of racism and sexism) on health outcomes. Specifically, we applied intersectionality to extend a biopsychosocial model of racism to highlight the psychosocial variables that mediate and moderate the influence of gendered racial microaggressions (i.e., subtle gendered racism) on health outcomes. [...] Findings of this study suggest that gendered racial identity centrality can serve a buffering role against the negative mental and physical health effects of gendered racism for Black women."
