About the Department

The Department of Physics and Astronomy is devoted to both teaching and research. Our mission is to educate and train students while advancing the frontiers of knowledge.

We offer undergraduate degrees that prepare students for a career in a technical field, go on to a professional school, or go on to graduate school. Our graduate program offers both masters and Ph.D. degrees. Our professors are both teachers and researchers thus giving students opportunities to participate in cutting edge research projects in astrophysics, biophysics, high energy particle physics, nuclear physics, and solid-state physics.
