I Need to Use the Library! What's Available? How Can I Use It?

Visiting the Libraries

There are 3 Libraries available for use by Wayne state students, faculty, and staff:

To promote a healthy and safe environment for patrons and staff, there are a few new things to know before visiting the libraries:

  • Library access is restricted to Wayne State students, faculty and staff
  • You must use your OneCard to enter the building
  • Be prepared to show proof that you have taken and passed the Campus Daily Screener
  • Masks must be worn properly at all times while inside the buildings
  • Users will be expected to self-clean their chair and workspace with provided supplies before and after use

Due to reduced capacities to promote social distancing, you must make a reservation to use the library

  • Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Students may book up to 8 one-hour slots per day.
  • Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance.
  • Be prepared to show reservation confirmation email for entry and in case of reservation discrepancy.
  • Space availability is determined by the reservation calendar and NOT by occupancy

Services We're Unable to Offer

We are following University protocols to enhance safety and promote physical distancing, so some services are not be available. Links are provided to online alternatives where available:

  • On-site browsing/access to the physical book/journal collections
  • Print Course Reserves
  • Group/Individual Study Rooms
  • Equipment checkout (with the exception of Chromebooks and Onmicharge Power Banks)
  • In-person tech support
  • Snack Store in UGL
  • Drinking fountains

What About Other Stuff?

The following University departments and Services located in the Adamany Undergraduate Library will not be open for in-person access. Please visit their websites for information on accessing them remotely.
