Using the Library - Things to Know

All libraries are open to Wayne State students, faculty, staff, and guests. We are following University protocols to enhance safety while delivering excellent services and resources for learning and research.

Remote resources and services have been expanded and most library services are being offered remotely as well as in person. We look forward to seeing you on campus and also encourage you to take advantage of our convenient remote services.

This guide offers a rundown of the services we offer and how to access them. If you have any questions or need help with anything, visit our Ask A Librarian page to chat or email with a librarian.

Try out our new 24/7 locker pickup outside the Cass entrance of Purdy/Kresge. More details here.

  • Reservations are not required for entry
  • Proof of Campus Daily Screener required of Wayne State affiliates (students, faculty) as well as guests for entry.
  • Because of the university's vaccination mandate, children under 5 are not allowed in the libraries since they can't be vaccinated. Check Wayne State's current vaccine requirements for more details.
  • All Wayne State affiliates and visitors must comply with current vaccine requirements.
  • Masks are optional in most campus locations, including the libraries at this time, but required in classrooms and laboratories. Please visit for more information.
