The Reuther Library Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs is the largest labor archives in North America and is home to the collections of numerous unions and labor-related organizations. The Reuther Library is also the home of the Wayne State University Archives, established by the Board of Governors in 1958 in recognition of the importance and permanent value of the University's official files, records, and documents.
Beginning August 30, 2021, The Reuther Library, Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs is open to all researchers and no appointments will be required.
New permanent Reading Room hours will run from 9:30-12 and 1-3:30. All in-person researchers must follow Wayne State University's vaccine and masking requirements and visitors will need to fill out the campus daily screener before arrival. Please check this space for further updates to mask and screener policies.
As always, we encourage you to submit questions at Ask an Archivist at your convenience and we continue to offer distance consultation and remote scanning services. We look forward to working with you all, whether remotely or in person, this year.
Note: no appointments will be necessary for WSU affiliates beginning August 23, 2021.
