Interlibrary Services allows current WSU students, faculty, and staff to request certain materials not available at Wayne State. Please note, eBooks are not requestable from other libraries.

Interlibrary Services are available to current WSU students, faculty and staff, and Emeritus Academy members. Retired faculty can use this service with approval from the Interlibrary Services department. Contact the office for details.

MeLCat Requests

• Physical materials requested from MeL can be picked up at any Wayne State University Library
• You will receive an email when your item is put on the hold shelf at your chosen delivery location

ILL Requests

• Electronic ILL requests are posted as PDFs to your account. To access, login to your ILL account and click the "Electronically Received Articles" link on the sidebar. Notifications are also sent by email that contain a link directly to the PDF.
• Physical materials requested from ILL can be picked up at any Wayne State University Library. You will receive an email when your item is put on the hold shelf at your chosen delivery location. Your default delivery location can be modified be selecting "Change User Information" once log in to your ILL account. Please note, the 'mail to address' delivery is only for Distance Education ILL requests.

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.

• Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction
• One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research"
• If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
