To access pages describing LIBRARY SERVICES, look on the left-hand side of the home page under the words "UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES." Click on "SERVICES" or use this URL:

Once you are in "INSTRUCTION," click on "LEARNING TOOLS." Click on "re:Search." This is a short, self-guided introduction to some of the online research tools available to you. It does not take very long, so have a look!

Also on this page are links to "Citation Management Options," which describes how you can freely download EndNote or Zotero software, and the "Assignment Planner," which is a time management tool for helping students to complete their written paper assignments on time.

 

INTERLIBRARY LOAN:   Click on "SERVICES." Click on "INTERLIBRARY LOAN," or click on the "INTERLIBRARY LOAN" link on the left-hand side of the home page underneath the first green line. You can also use this URL:

Because of the many ways that resources can be accessed locally, the first Interlibrary Loan (ILL) screen offers several options to try BEFORE using the Interlibrary Loan service. These search options are in the large gray-shaded box. If these searches do not locate the required material, then Interlibrary Loan can be used. Interlibrary Loan Services provide a means to access journal articles, books, dissertations and other materials that are not available locally at Wayne State University. Use your Wayne State University access id and password to log in. If you have not used Interlibrary Loan before, you will be prompted after login to register for Interlibrary Loan under the words "Update Information." You only have to do this the first time you use ILL, unless you wish to change your contact information.

Information for Online Degree Students

This document describes several ways that Online Degree students may access materials that are not digital, like physical books. Remember that these options are NOT for students who occasionally take an online class, but only those students who are taking their entire degree online!
