Resource Highlight - Kanopy Streaming

by Brian z_Will on 2021-10-22T09:00:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

If you're interested in using movies and television as a source, Kanopy streaming offers a wide array of options.

Individuals can access Kanopy for free either through their school or through a public library card. Be aware that if you're accessing the service through a public library, there may be a monthly cap on how many films you can view.

The documentaries offered cover a wide range of topics, from LGBTQ issues, racial justice, economic inequality, and more. But the service also offers a wide range of works of fiction as well. Movies from all over the world are offered, including influential works such as Battle of Algiers and Nosferatu. More contemporary works such as What We Do In The Shadows and Lady Bird are available as well.

You have the option of creating your own watch list and other playlists, plus a clipping option to save specific scenes for later.

Whether for courses that require certain film viewings or just for your own interests, Kanopy is an indispensible resource.
